More buying (NCIB)

Fridsay and monday IFP bought 362890 more shares bringing the total to 1531120 in only 
9 trading sessions.the total outstanding shares have already been reducred by 1.74%

My lumber companies are raking in cash like never before.IMO, we are only in the second or 3rd innings in this strong upward move.



Softwood Lumber Duties o Interfor expensed $19.7 million of duties in the quarter, representing the full amount of countervailing and anti-dumping duties incurred on its Canadian shipments of softwood lumber into the U.S. at a combined rate of 20.23%. Cumulative duties of US$121.1 million have been paid by Interfor since the inception of the current trade dispute and are held in trust by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. o On February 3, 2020 the U.S. Department of Commerce issued preliminary revised combined rates of 8.37% for 2017 and 8.21% for 2018. These rates remain preliminary, with final rate determinations not expected until November 2020. At such time, the final rates will be applied to new lumber shipments. No adjustments have been recorded in the financial statements as of September 30, 2020 to reflect the preliminary revised duty rates.

Agreed, company buying back stock is good but I'm not sure of the numbers you quote. If you go onto the SEDI site and look at Interfor's repurchases as of Nov. 24th (filing date) it shows a total of 1,168,230 shares repurchsed as of Monday this week.    Below is the data or you can find it at www.sedi.ca.     Where did the 1,531,120 number come from  ?   ...more

My mistake,i had a bug in my excel spread sheet.Nov. 20th and 23rd were counted twice. Your figures are the right ones. They have bought 1168230 shares for $21,256,457.So the average cost is $18,20 Not sure about this but i think the NCIB rules is that a company can buy a maximum of 2% of outstanding share / month. In any event, as a shareholder, i am extremely pleased with this excess ...more
