What' going on in the IMG Boardroom?

On May 3^rd, IAMGOLD Reported First Quarter 2022 Results; and Announced Appointment of Maryse Blanger as Interim President and CEO.  Today, shareholders are still waiting for the announcement of the new President and CEO. How difficult is it to find a competent and knowledgeable candidate that understands the intricacies of running a gold mine? The Board of Directors promised to find a qualified replacement with a reasonable amount of time? What is really going on within the walls of the boardroom? Do these individuals have no scruples or integrity? The BOD seems to have abandoned their basic duties and responsibilities as stewards of the company. What are they waiting for? The shareholders deserve better…

My bet is that Belanger's jockeying for a permanent role, BOD politicing underway. Should this pan out it will be the final deah knell for IMG.

I spent a lifetime in the mining industry working with some of the best mining executives. In my professional opinion, Maryse Belanger does not possess the qualifications to run a gold mining company or to resolve the liquidity problem. it goes both ways , the company can pick who they want , the person picked decides if they want the job after they thoroughly go through the company . it could be the qualified competent executives that have been approched are saying no

gisellkronk, your point is well taken. If what you’re implying is a possibility, then we are left with the bottom of the barrel in terms of the selection process in hiring a permanent CEO/President. Another potential alternative is to hope someone/company comes in and makes a buy-out/merger offer in order to get rid of all the dead wood and have a fresh start… I still believe that IMG has

luke55 , i am saying we dont know how many " good " managers have been approched and said no , so who knows how many more are left to ask , but i would think a lot of good people have already been asked . the problem with your buy out alternative is how low the stock price is when the offer is made . i am in at much higher prices , odds are it will be an all stock deal , and the
