Ivanhoe Mines Ltd > Not even a fraction of 1% of the geological potential....

Not even a fraction of 1% of the geological potential....

Has been deliniated on the Western Foreland region - RF specultes, at 44 minutes, 20 seconds into the 6th November broadcast on IVN website.
Since Christmas is coming, he cryptically teases,  a news release can be expected before the festive season. Something (just one of many spoken of) special has been found and he even states IVN's reluctance to discuss it yet, for strategic reasons. He talks about how, because of the geology, a copper deposit when found in WF, goes and goes and goes....... for miles and miles and miles.
He mentions the ease and low cost of bulk mechanisation, existing skill and infrastructure being already on site, underway, or easily expanded.
He talks about the multitude of interested bodies.
He is not saying all this out of some wild speculation..

You maybe have to read between the lines a bit, put a few of the pieces together, information, or comments that have been said over recent past, but is very clear from all the comments made..........
The Western Foreland region has one, "Slide the SP decimal point to the right" gigantic amount of copper in it!
(Time will show.)

Interesting.

A trillion pounds of copper in WF? NO  If 10.4 billion lbs is not even a fraction of 1% then 100% suggests RF believes there are Trillions of lbs of copper in the Westertn Forelands. Grades yet to be drilled will raise or lower this number. RF is indeed speculating, but he knows more about the geology than we have been told, or managed to piece together. RF & IVN knew that in ...more

I listened to RF's comments again last night. I agree he is winding people up and deservedly, there is much to be excited about. But he was careful to state the announcement was not about Makoko area, and so I wonder if it will be WF related at all? Is it too soon to expect drilling results back from the Bushveld Mokopane feeder by Christmas? RF and his team discovered the Voisey Bay Ni ...more

On my third occasion to listen to the presentation I am confident RF is talking about a news release for something in the WF. He says it's not in the Makoko area, not it's not in the WF area, ergo it's something special in WF.

And so we will, in the very near future, start out by announcing the work we've been doing at the Makoko system and another related area of high grade at Kiala. These two in combination are now being studied to make a mine that Ivanhoe Mines that operate in an 80/20 joint venture with the government in local Congolese. And so I would expect that we'll be able to give you those ...more

Yes, I agree. My earlier take was wrong. I read through recent presentations/news releases and it is as you say - in addition to the Makoko/Kiala maiden resource announcement, there was mention of coming news about recent drilling on the WF. Looking forward to being amazed.

IVN would not be talking the talk if these new core samples were not good. The drill bit must have hit something big and that can only mean one thing ........................... another tier one discovery??? The news should be out shortly $$$$$$$

But since Christmas is coming and our shareholders have so much interest in our discussions, I'll start by saying that we have recently increased our landholding in the Western Forelands. We completely dominate the important parts of the basin based on our proprietary geologic knowledge of how the creator put all this metal here in the first place. If you came from another planet in a flying ...more

RF : And I'd like to tell this anecdote that one of the largest mining companies in the world came to visit, what we're doing and concluded that Kamoa-Kakula is the best mine in the world. They said they could never do it themselves, because they didn't have the foresight to be in the Congo 25 years ago when we were suffering under the tyranny of the net present value model. This is ...more

RF, on Platreef : Compared to the competition, we have a uniquely high endowment nickel. In fact, the whole system constitutes one of the world's largest nickel resources, that's why we're drilling the Mokopane feeder. There's just an astronomic amount of sulfide nickel in that district that pales in comparison to any other nickel target. So the very high nickel endowment, the bulk ...more

It's really hard to believe and understand not only will they have they highest copper grade mine(KandK), highest grade.zinc mine(Kipushi), and the highest grade PGM mine(Platreef) all operating with in the next 3 quarters and the largest smelter in Africa, WF, massive H2S04 sales and the Feeder Zone, anyways enjoy the weekend.

The Chinese only have to satisfy RF when it come to an offer for the whole company. Between them they own over 50% of the stock.  RF is not going to give this away by any means and the Chinese know this. The offer will be much higher than the current low SP and all shareholders will be very happy. The longer you wait .............................. the more you pay. The drill bit discovering ...more
