he kind of dismissed the TD and Scotiabank no interest and how the media is not giving much respect to LB.....he said sit tight...he sees a deal getting done and feels the bank is being unfairly bashed...he also commented on maybe outside Canada buyer....he feels pretty confident that a deal will get done and he said premium is usually around 30% or so 

I think price likely around $50

I will take $50.  TD and Scotia are playing games here.  They both are frothing at the mouth as the chance to buy LB and get a foothold in Quebec.  They are just bluffing.  It is al a game of BS until the cash comes out.

Dog - "Frothing at the mouth to establish a foothold in Quebec"? You realise Scotia Bank alone has over 280 locations in Quebec now. I don't know what you class as a foothold, but what they don't need is a second branch outlet in every small town and they don't need many more in the major cities either. This is helpful. I would also like to point out that Takacsy was right about Velan (another Montreal based firm) being taken over. He signalled it well in advance. So his thoughts on LB have extra credibility. As someone else has pointed out, Takacsy doesn't usually make a short term pick. But he did on this one. Nothing is definitive here.
