Competition Bureau launches investigation into Leon's

CBC link: https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/competition-bureau-leons-the-brick-1.7388241

"The investigation is related to several allegations, including that the retailers marketed false or misleading information about the end of sales or limited-time-only promotions, and that the companies potentially inflated the regular price of items when making savings claims.
It's also looking into allegations that — when claiming that they were having a sales promotion — the retailers didn't specify how much the discount was, or they displayed prices in a font that gave a false or misleading impression that customers would benefit from the sale."

.....just sounds like creative adverstising....no different than when big chain grocey stores offer a "2 for 1" sale on steak....the price per KG jumps 150% during the sale period.  I mean can't most people make a decision to buy or not to buy a piece of furniture based on whether or not they feel the price tag seems fair?  As long as there are no hidden fees and you pay the amount that you see then why does it matter if they disclose that you saved $50 or $500 if you felt the item was worth the $2,000 that was on the price tag.
