Is LSG overvalued??

ossyw 11 states :

"Since our board and management own less than $750,000 worth of LSG stock, its really not fair for them to bother giving us an opinion. "

Is there an important message here for us retail investors??

Does the well informed management and board of directors of LSG avoid investing in LSG because they have formed a more realistic and a lower judgement of the true value of LSG and it's prospects??

Whatever the reason this fact would appear to be an important consideration in evaluating whether to invest in LSG.

Are you aware of the minimal cost to mine at LSG? Don't feel obligated to invest and if it's not right for you feel free to move on! Thanks!!!

For this management team and board to own less than 1,000,000 shares is at bit shameful.  Many institutional investors will not touch such a stock given that the shareholder's interests cannot possibly be aligned with management's and the board's.  That is (and always has been) an unfortunate red flag for this company and it is one of the reasons why LSG will never have the ...more

Institutions seem to have 150M shares out of a float of about 400M thats a reasonable amount i would think. Major Shareholders  LSG   Funds Institutions   Name Shares Held % Total Shares Held Shares Change % Chg from Prior Port % Total Assets  ...more

harjay you note that "Institutions seem to have 150M shares out of a float of about 400M " and while that may seem a significant proportion, the fact that this is spread over twenty insititutions lessens the amount of oversight and attention these institutional investors place on LSG. the concern has to be that with a weak board of directors(they own very few shares) and little ...more

Yoda Sorry i am not an expert on institutional ownership of mid cap resource co's. . Can you advise if ownership that LSG has  is the norm in these types of mid cap resource co's of this size and float or is , more than the norm or less than the norm. And if it is not the norm can you provide examples of other CO'S  and how many in this  particular  sector of ...more

harjay i am not an expert and did not intend to give that impression, if I did.  I was trying to share my sense of the proportions as they would seem reasonable to me . In response to your comment I did look at examples of shares I own. I chose FVI ,HBM and OR. I could not find OR  but here are the first two.   the first FVI(FSM in the US) has  a  cap of about $630 ...more

Yoda Appreciate the work and time you took to formulate a  response to me and the BB. I guess we will have to wait and see if your insight into the diffrences between these co's institutional ownership and boards  and LSG's  turn out to be as relevant  as you seem to feel they are. in consideration of future  share performance.  I believe that production ...more

Please explain how management is not looking after the best interests of shareholders! I'm dying to know.

Van Eck no longer has that many shares they dumped over 24 million recently.

I checked the top 10 holdings under Jr. Gold Miners for Van Eck as of November 30 and compared to total holding as of Dec 26 I note that all 10 top holdings have been reduced proportionately. LSG is not reduced more than the other 9. Not sure what this means but that's what shows up.

There are some bashers on this board by asking open ended questions? LSG is a strong and growing company!!!
Comment by castle123 on Dec 27, 2014 12:12pm
Get over this ownership issue! There are so many ways to own shares through funds, family etc.  not sure of your motive?

No Skin in the Game During several of the last A.G.M., Allan Moon, Chmn. of LSG acknowledged this problem of certain directors having little, or no skin in the game. He indicated he would take action but nothing has been done. The optics are that these directors are along for the free ride and contribute little to the future direction of LSG. Any company looking at taking a run at LSG, can easily ...more
