I like your optimism MC.  I say $21.51 a the close.

Im not expecting much increase as they have no dividends for 2 years if ever   The whole deal sounds lovely but  in oil its not likely that there is any money in two years .  So shares go back down as price of oil drops.  All the executives and directors will get nice paychecks but nothing to the owners and then the share drops and shareholder are screwed yet again. They ...more

So you invented a new alias just to come out and be negative ? New account started May 2 2022 , come on sorrenson , go squeeze your sour grapes somewhere else ......

Whatever.. Don't listen to me listen to Eric  Nuttall. That's his entire point is that it's time for these companies to give back to the shareholders.  Just when it doesn't explode tomorrow like you're expecting you have to understand why I think money is gonna come out of this company and go into companies that actually pay the shareholders. Not exactly a new ...more

No dividend because MEG is going to be bought out. I'm thinking $29.50.

As you and Deckdude are instant gratification seekers, I think you would be much better off if both of you sell your shares and invest in tissue, some lotion, and a video. MEG is a company that has decades of proven reserves, trading at insanely low multiples, in a superbull oil market, that just stated they will continually return 100% of profits back to shareholders starting next year after the ...more

I would expect to see some positive momentum but in this market , I will be happy with a new high and holding above the 12 month high of $21.17 at the close . I know thats conservative but nobody is getting much credit for earnings beats lately .

CVE went up from 20 to 25

CVE increased dividends.  MEG is paying no dividend for 2 years if at all.

MAYBE make a new 52 week high or fall just short of it.. and then sell off.  Seems to be the trend. Biggest risk is China lockdowns, Fed hikes and peak "everything"... Meg has lots of debt and shareholders won't see anything until debt is <$1.7B

I personally much prefer appreciation over dividends. So does Buffett. That's why BRK doesn't pay dividends. Who's Warren Buffett you asks? Just one of the best investors to walk the planet.

So you're comparing Berkshire Hathaway with a 3,000,000% increase against Meg who is at one third its high.    I'm just saying all the other stocks in the oil patch are paying dividends, this is not and it will hurt the share price.  Reality is is a very good chance at two years from now oil will have dropped back down and the dividends never come based on the history of ...more

Now, this is not going to age well......somehow, your subjective analysis is flawed. By the end of 2023, MEG will have reduced their debt to $600 million and will increase their share buybacks along with the implementation of dividends. The streets like the FCF and are adjusting the stock price accordingly. Keep guessing on the time of day; at least you can get it correctly twice a day. And yes ...more

crazy concept..you want a dividend..sell 8 percent of your shares over the course of a year to pay yourself..or whatever yield you so desire....
