last year nae issued its...

...guidance and January dividend on separate dates.  divy announcement early in the month, as usual.  guidance near then end of the month.

this year with guidance being issued early in the month, presumably the divy will also be addressed the same day.  Hmmm,  if I was a little (more) paranoid and quick to add 1 and 1 and get 11, I can see a case being made for someone to argue that the div will get cut in a few days.

I'd be really disappointed if that happened, cuz then I can see another case being made for another cut if oil ever drops to $80.

I have no objective expectations going into guidance.  I have certain hopes, but no real idea what will be announced.

Hoping for the best.

Have exactly the same concern regarding putting the guidance and dividend announcement together. Optomistically they want to explain why they can sustain the dividend, but that seems a little fanciful. More likely they want to offset the effect of a reduced dividend through raised production expecations.   terr

Considering PBN managed to keep their div intact, with a debt profile more challenging than that of NAE, I would expect management to keep the div as is. Cash flow can be improved with non-core asset sales.  And with oil showing support above $95, a div cut should be the last resort. Having said that, mr. market seems to be speaking loud and clear.  Other junior & ...more

It may be they are moving the guidance forward because they are hastening to reassure the anxious shareholders.  Well, we shall soon see.  Hoping for the best and keeping my fingers crossed like the rest of you!  One thing, if the divy is not cut and the guidance is good, then the shares should rally like the other companies mentioned (AVF, PGF, FRU etc.) - so be ready to jump in ...more

I am in up to my Eyeballs!  The only thing I am worried about is this Nat Gas price.  It is crazy low.  I can see them trying to focus mostly on the tight oil and away from that BC gas.

cutting the div is just pure speculation on my part.  I have said before I think cutting the div could send the signal of skeletons in the closet.  $100 oil, sizeable and attractive land positions, I would think should be enough to maintian the div.  Worse case, scenario sell an asset you wont drill for the foreseeable future to help pay down debt.  I would much rather the ...more
