The likelihood that Tesla ever shells out a dime to Nano One approaches near zero percent. Which means Tesla is a direct competitor of Nano One. Not a collaborator.
Sure Tesla might have learned everything they needed from Nano One. Just like Pulead did. And by the sounds of it Saint Gobain. But what did sharing the technology with these consortium members get Nano One? Not one single penny to-date. And in the meantime, Tesla now has all their very own IP and patents. And Saint Gobain now sells their own proprietary waste free cathode synthesis route (e.g., to Mitra Chem).
Tesla is not likely signing a licensing agreement with Nano One. That is the most realistic outcome. Not sure what to make of Saint Gobain but I am not holding my breath. And Pulead? Well Pulead seems to be representative of how all consortium members eventually end up. Going their own way.
I have not heard Dan or anyone from Nano mention anything about NDA partners in a long time. Nano now only talks about starting fresh with Worley and trying to get their product out to potential customers as if the last 8 years didn't happen.
