Personally I wouldn't buy a EV, longer distant winter driving is out of the question. I often have to drive north in the winter, seeing EV'S stopping to charge in the middle of no where, -30 weather isn't for me.  Hybrid is much more practical choice, unless you only plan for shorter commute.

Teccing, we have four Tesla's in the family and in cold or warm weather we never have had a problem! Brake pads last for about 300,000 miles, no oil changes and best of all no charging problems.
