Eight Capital and Nano One

To clarify, it is my understanding that Eight Capital never held Nano One in an institutional fund.  In October 2020, Eight Capital was the joint bookrunner and co-lead agent for a marketed public offering of Nano One share units.

Subsequently, in Aprili 2021 Eight Capital published their "Initiating Coverage" report (great report by the way).  But since that time, Eight Capital is no longer covering Nano One Materials.

The initiaing coverage report was well prepared.  But the target share price of $8 clearly missed the mark.

Lawisfun, again I'm having to fact check you. You said "...it is my understanding Eight Capital never held Nano One in an institutional fund."  Given your history of playing with the facts, what is your source for that info to give you that understanding? I was also curious about your claim that Eight Capital is no longer covering Nano One. I just checked and was told that they ...more

Hi John, What I have shared is true to the best of my knowledge.  All analysts who cover Nano One are listed by Nano One on their website.  Eight Capital at one time was referenced on the Nano One website but was dropped when Eight Capital stopped coverage (circa 2022).  Also, just call Eight Capital and they will confirm what I have stated regarding their involvement with ...more

Eight Capital does not manage an institutional fund. They are a sophisticated broker. Our primary businesses include investment banking, equity research and institutional sales & trading. The partnership was established by a group of elite professionals with experience at leading Canadian bank-owned and boutique brokerages. Our goal is to become Canada’s leading independent dealer ...more

Here are the analysts who follow Nano One today. Notably, Eight Capital is no longer present.  https://nanoone.ca/investors/analyst-coverage/ it's not a negative thing that Eight Capital dropped coverage. It's just a reality likely due to their own resource management.

" I just checked and was told that they are still covering Nano One. "   Who is the liar now eh John? What do you have to say for yourself and to our community?

Law, do you have an off button?

Law, I didn't say you were lying. I said that given your history I had to question the accuracy and truthfullness of what you posted. I don't think asking for your sources is asking too much. The FACT that your source is more accurate than mine doesn't bother me in the least. I don't believe that I have ever posted a lie. Unfortunately, I don't think you can say the same. A ...more

Thanks John. Okay so who was your source that confirmed Eight Capital was still covering Nano One? Presumably someone from Eight Capital (which is hard to believe). Or did you in fact have no source but told the community you did (I.e., you lied)?  You're right, a reputation is very easy to lose.  good luck to all the longs.

Law, I (foolishly!?) used MS's Copilot hoping it would have the latest. If that is incorrect then so be it. I have better things to do than constantly fact check. I just asked because I want statements backed up by facts. I will never avoid identifying any sources I use. We are all craving solid info as we know Nano One is so close to having it all come together.  I'm going to ...more
