Nickel Creek Platinum Corp > 9% NICKEL + 49% IRON ( concentrate )
View:
Post by Wangotango67 on Sep 19, 2023 1:39am

9% NICKEL + 49% IRON ( concentrate )

Turns out...
There's a nickel concentrate that consists of,
9% nickel + 49% iron

Fetches
= $45/tonne ( shipping costs tack on more +++ )
https://www.metal.com/Nickel/202109140006

Issue ???
Iron ore 61% - 62.5% fetches
$125 usd avg
https://www.metal.com/price/Ferrous-Metals/Iron-Ore-Price

Iron concentrate
61% - 62.5% = still not pure ( other mineral constituents )

More profitable selling the iron - lol

Let's have a lil laugh
Model the Shaw as an iron con
throw in the 9% nickel and fetch the $125/tonne iron con ( wink )

Annual - 95,000 dmt of Iron conc with nickel x 19 yrs ( primary to iron )
= 1,805,000 iron con tonnes
x $125/tonne
= $ 225,625,000  mil

VERSUS

Annual - 95,000 dmt of Ni conc with iron  x 19 yrs
= 1,805,000 iron con tonnes
x $45/tonne
= $ 81,225,000  mil

Even better ?
Separate ... nickel, copper, cobalt, platinum, palladium, gold
from the iron

It's then, one could use the iron as a profit and carry for operations
33,400,000 tonnes ( RAW )
x 10% iron
= 33,000,000 mil tonnes - iron
x $ 125/tonne
= $4,125,000,000 usd ( rough calc )

Using electrolysis
Pull the...  nickel, copper, palladium, platinum, gold
Fetch far more $$$$

With over
2.4 billion pounds of nickel,
1.2 billion pounds of copper,
6.9 million ounces of PGMs
137 million pounds of cobalt
in the measured and indicated mineral resource categories, Nickel Shw is one of the largest undeveloped nickel projects in North America not controlled by a major mining company.

Conventional open pit methods, with a LOM of over 19 years.

Total LOM payable metal production includes the following:
  • 614.3M lbs nickel;
  • 281.5M lbs copper;
  • 21.5 M lbs cobalt;
  • 626,500 troy ounces platinum;
  • 743,400 troy ounces palladium; and
  • 174,400 troy ounces gold.

2.4 billion lbs of Nickel  ( total )
versus
614.3M lbs nickel ( payable )
26% capture recovery ???

Should this figure not be higher if only running concentrates ???
Same goes for each other mineral ?

It's good to crunch the numbers...
I'm quite surprized to see an iron con fetch much more
than a 9% nickel con.

Correction -
former post title ( nico ) lol
i was researching the competition.
Closing out several nico windows...
Yup... had nico on my mind ( excuse the - typo )

Nickel Creek has a major hyway ( BONUS )
Nico has to build a - hyway ( BIG NEG )

I'd say...
The PFS could be remodelled and tweaked.
To each thrir own.
Do your own DD.
Not investment advice.

I like this project.
I would like to see another engineering firm crunch the numbers
and reformat the mine model.

Cheers...
