Global village economics

Yes, a lot of taxpayers money involved. Add in the tax credits and grants. But money goes for other  industries also. Every country may have their own subsidy programs. Tough competition worldwide for new investments in anything. Some may say, yes jobs are created, but most of money goes back overseas.

LNG Phase 2. Some suggest BC should be an active partner and not just collect tax revenues.

Honda's EV assembly plant in Alliston Ont. EV battery factories near Montreal and Surrey, BC (which is on hold now). All have Federal and/or Provincial subsidies attached.

Green energy developments will be limited without Santa Claus. I would like to see more exports with resultant foreign currency coming in. I think Canada can compete. I look at prices around the world, we have it good here.

It's the cost of new transmission lines to carry renewable energy, which may be the biggest hurdle.

Funny how the battery plant in BC is halted while the taxpayer money flood continues in the east. But, bottom line, the tens of billions of dollars pizzed away on such boondoggles is simply total stupidity. Car buyers are already voting, most don't want to buy EVs. There is a reason that Canada's dollar is collapsing as unemployment stays stubbornly high, and it is all because of Trudope& ...more
