Yes the entrance to Viking was a bad strategy, never understood the merit of merging with Raging at that time, gaining scale just to trade at the same price. They also spent a lot of capex there

on the flip side, OBE can also look to merge with BTE, other than the Cardium everything else fits like a glove, I can see that happening if they are able to dispose the rest of the WG.

I guess it depends on the price, but if I am taking shares I want a company that knows how to drill, BTE drilled some of the best wells in the clearwater, none of them even come close. BTE debt

Baytex looks like they have made their moves in Peace River....they got some more land from Grizzly, bought Lineup resources and BTE got more Peavine land from Tamarack.... BTE has over 2 billion in

OBE Short positions
Quotestream indicates that the short positions rose from 1.12mil on 2/15 to 2.62mil on 4/15. 5/1 has not been posted yet, but will be interesting to see..
