RE:This stock falling out a favor with me.as of the last available report, theres 2 days worth of shorts so its not huge (just over 40k shares short). I dont think its the shorts. It seems like someone is keeping the sp from breaking through.
I know the Hondurans are not happy and although it seems unlikely they could be behind this ongoing lag. I think Aura has a very strong management team but they are a bit slow to communicate things. I know the honduran gov has put a stop in San Andres until Aura can show it has a legal right to exhume. This happened several weeks but no news from Aura. We dont know where they are in the process of providing proof. We also dont know if part of the mine has been stopped or the entire operation. If Aura doesnt talk, investor's mind will create their own wild ideas.
Lastly, results are inconsistent. Its not that the result are nad. They are just inconsistent. Q4 21 was very very strong but Q1 22 was just ok. Its not that production for the lastest Q was bad as they did achieve over 60k oz but it was much lower then Q4 21 and was slightly lower then the same Q in 21. Consistent strong results attract the attention of analysts
I believe Aura will have a very strong 2nd half but until then the sp will waver. Aura is a good company and I think the volitility offers good entry points. My core position is intact but my day trading position has been sold completely. Hopefully i get a chance to refill.
