Wow....What's up here?

Quite unusual and uncommon for a quiet stock like Peyto to be trading like this! The only other time it's done this much volum wise, was almost 2 years ago. Now it has done so 3 times in the less then 6 months??? Todau inclueded? Something seems up here, but sure what exactly. Anyone have any news or heard any remotely credible rumors? Because for all intents & purposes, this IS NOT normal........for Peyto. Being one of only 3 Eps that are 90%+ NG weighted producers, all of which are down QUITE a bit compared to the norm.....might have something to do with all this strange volume & abnormal trading recently. I guess we'll just have to wait and see......if anything pop up on the radar for them to explain this rather strange development.

As near as I can tell this is just FED fear that is affecting the entire market. There is only one wildfire burning near Edson and is deemed "Under Control" https://www.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/8d86d267dcf44ad085a11939186f3d3a Good work by the fire crews on site. The town remains under evacuation order for safety concerns. GLTA

Is there going to be a transcript of the proceedings of  yesterday's AGM on Peyto's website?

Why not call Peyto head office and ask? Then report back to us what they say. That would help.

Yeah,  ask them about July's dividend while you are at it please.  ;-) GLTA

I actuall telephed, but only got the voicemail of the CEO. After seeing today's press release there is no need to speculate about the forthcoming divdend cut. I only wish I would have bought a feww thousand more a few days ago. Respecting the matter of hedging - it is a gamble any way you look at it. Most NG producers, and pipeline operators are not very successful at it. Oil and gas can be ...more

I think a lot of it boils down to displeasure from institutional investors, and I'm sure many of us, on the actions of the BOD over the past few quarters, and perhaps years. Looking at the voting results from the AGM, it is clear that this is the case. Don Gray, the chairman of the board, was barely relected. The results were not posted on Peyto's website, but they can be found on SEDAR ...more

mrmomo, having reviewed Peyto's 2022 (presumably) audited financial report, I could not find any line items the would make me uncomportable. The numbers are positive. Having said that, I am startled by hearing the words "borrow money to pay the dividends". The report shows a decent earning per share. What is it you think I am missing, before I buy a block?
