CIBC (Investor's Edge) maybe the worst trading platform one can use, they only charge $6.95 commission compared to TD's $9.99 for a reason. I'm using both so I can dare to say, they seem incompetent to me. I had a stock deslisted on the TSX, moved over to the Nasdag, it took TD 3 days to make the switch so I can trade it, CIBC had it sitting there on the TSX for months, and I mean

I use ITRADE from Scotia Bank. Have had issues with it in past but because I hardly ever trade because I am a bag holder - I do not experience your type of issues. When I become an active trader again I am sure I will have issues too. I will be looking at other options when I become active again.

Cool! I have no intention to bash or promote, I agree 99% of time if you just buy and sell you wouldn't encounter any problems with whatever platforms you use. The incidents I had and Monty's do not happen regularly, only when it does happen...in this case with the CTO, Monty might have lost out getting in at the lower price he wants.

Just out out curiosity, I tried to put an order in with CIBC just now, the following warning appears: You cannot place an order on this security as it is subject to a cease trade order (CTO). I grabbed a few more at $7.45 today and didn't have an issue.... Wow I don't think we've had an all green week in I dont even know how long.... GLTA and have a good weekend.

strange i have the same issues with TD i am looking to move so thanks for the heads up on CIBC, tried to open with RBC direct but i was told they won't allow you to open an account unless you bank with them too, they won't allow you to open an account and fund it from a different bank , even more stupid is i have a dominion securities acct with them already!
