Looks like North Star has decided to dismiss their appeals 20-1295 and 20-1296.

WinnerCircle, what does thus mean. It's dated March 2020.

CabbieJBJ, Sorry! Those links were supposed to be on the same post. W

W, Help.  Would you be good enough to claify the significance of these two dismissals.  FRAP 42(b) is a voluntary dismissal.  Why would North Star move to dismiss?  I can't find anything in Docketbird on the 20-1296 and 20-1296 cases.  Ditto for the CAFC opinions and orders. However, there is a CAFC order dismissing a North Star appeal of a PTAB decison (case 20-1874) ...more

Could it be that North Star and Micron came to a settlement but IMS continues their litigation with Micron?  I don't see why not... Chi

I honestly don't know, cabbieJBJ, no settlement and this case is still active a week later.  Hope a comprehensive deal is in the works. W

This may or may not be related, but Micron has decided to settle with UMC in November after a long battle. Hopefully, they also settled with Wilan and this would explain why they withdrew the request. Here's a link to the news of Micron settling with UMC: https://www.taipeitimes.com/News/biz/archives/2021/11/27/2003768571

Capharnaum--Thanks for post. May or may not be related .  But i would like to point out the following: POLARIS AND UMC ENTER LICENSE AGREEMENT MARCH 31,2020. UMC IS CLIENT OF OURS MARCH 31,2020. MICRON AS ABOVE SETTLING WITH UMC. MAYBEE?????

If UMC is a client, QTRH might have been a participant to the settlement between UMC/Micron which would explain why their would have dismissed their appeal.
