1) Ed had oversight on this deal..he is a QC..he did not give away REI $ without good security and fallbacks
2) Ed realized there is risk here and in worrst case scenario (today) it would position REI at head of table to grab a bunch of prime assets they otherwise probably would not have a chance at
3) REI is the best at filling retail..remember Zellers? how long did that take? 6-9 months?
4) this will be fine...
