I guess I am the only one stressed out by LFPs

If you read some of the releases and analysis post vw 'digital power day' last month, you'll see Ni doesn't factor in at all in the product range until the higher end.  The 'Unified Battery' is basically LFP as far as i can tell except in higher end models.  Perhaps you'll have the option to upgrade as the whole beauty of this is that it's modular.  Here are some links.  Regardless seems to pour a little water on the Ni story.  Or at least loyalty to any particular chemistry - you just design a car around a standard battery pack and pick the chemistry that at the time is most advantageous vis a vis cost and energy density.

BYD just announced that they are going exclusively LFP.

Thanks for this.  'a net negative for nickel' see link.  The issue I see is as 'range anxiety' abates, consumers will realize they can get by with lower capacity LFPs vs Ni chemistries  https://safehaven.com/commodities/industrial-metals/Teslas-Biggest-Competitor-Is-Going-Cobalt-Free.html

Honestly, I don't think consumers in the west will take well to the LFP vehicles. In addition to having lower energy density they also charge more slowly.
