Reguly is my favourite G&M columnist - insightful.  The west/democracies have become reactionary - China (and less effectively countries like Russia) are strategic / play the long game.  Rate earth metals obviously another example.  Excited to see what sort of scramble occurs in next 6-12 months to secure supplies for all these factories coming online.

No mention of Sherritt. You'd think these dumazzzes in NA would be looking in their own backyard for established sources of Co.

Sherritt needs to fire their PR team. Complete failure to communicate its strengths and advance awareness about its operations. If you go to their Twitter feed it is nothing but an endless barrage of "diversity", "inclusion", and rainbows. Nothing to do with the company's operations or anything an investor would care about. Pathetic.

PR isn't going to change anything. The Canadian government and CEOs from NA automakers and Sherritt CEO/CFO should meet and develop a lobbying strategy that highlights to the US government that Canada has a secured Co/Ni via Sherritt, and convince them to implement a specific sanction exemption (call it the GreenCuba clause or whatever name pleases their idiots in Congress) so investment ...more

PR has worked wonders for juniors like CNC even though their project is junk. Sherritt should get rid of the woke brigade they have running PR and learn from CNC. Would love to see Sherritt lobby the Canadian gov. for access to US markets but I don't think its very likely.

Is the project junk? seen them on BNN and they have the right narrative just like IVN is promoting zero carbon metal been watching the chart to jump on as my Nickel play if i need one , junk?

Like Giga, the project is giant, bulk, low grade deposits. They require sustained and significantly higher Ni prices to be profitable . I owned it and Giga and have sold both but my position in CNC was very small.

U R out of focus - autofocus- u forget that Fidel confiscated American cobalt mines back in the 50's and the redemption for that loss has never been paid by Cuba, so any company that has secured those properties for profit r barred by US  laws in trading those commodities. ... That means sherrit and company personnel r barred from entering the US or selling cobalt to Tesla. ... U can call ...more

I know that. Unless the US invades Cuba and seizes the assets or a new regime goes into power and hands the assets back or voluntarily pays the US reparations (all unlikely), then the reality is the USA ain't getting squat. At least, if they issued a special 'green' waiver to Cuba wrt Moa operations, they could lock-in access to a 'secure' source of Co. Maybe they can negotiate ...more
