The harder it is to get mines producing in these countries just props up our case for the value we see in Sherritt as a online producing mine..  I say good, the price should be what encourages increased supply. If the world wants these minerals they need to pay a fair price for them. I am against government insentives. However, the red tape should be reduced for all things in general in ...more

Exactly.  There is very significant value in being an establised producer vs some pipe dream or stuck in a never ending regulatory saga.

Always hear about the political risk of Cuba.  I would venture that this mine is better located than any project/mine in the DRC.   Furthermore, if you look at it on the ESG angle, these are pretty well non existent in the cuban operations.  No idea for the Fort but I would bet no also. Good point - I agree completely. as well, IMO Sherritt has proven very capable of operating the Cuban mine. Compared to other Cuban-run operations, S is hands-down th more efficient operator. in other words, regardless of politics or the government of the day, I don't see a likely situation where S's operations are in jeopardy. Cuba needs the funds too badly, and S has bent over ...more
