It is surely concerning, but as they observe in the article, the biggest banks only need to be able to skate through the next few years before they can get back at least the billions they sunk into the bonds.  They aren't going to be making "bank", but they aren't going to fold either. More concerning is the off-book lending overhang that is apparently going on in China ...more

Mkts rise and fall but have always generally moved higher.  We're at the top now, it is going to fall...soon. just like gold did. The USD is a place of safety during this time and demand for usa investments will create demand on the USD pushing it higher like today. Economics 101...supply and demand. Demand is being tamed to bring harmony once again to the supply and demand ...more
