Indonesia is the biggest source of nickel (...) promoting the idea of an OPEC-like alliance of nickel producers. When you are the 800 pound gorilla, the idea is to increase price sound feasible.    The cure to low price is low prices...

It might work but I wouldn't hold my breath.  Just like the BRICS, it ain't gonna happen. Everyone will be fending for themselves and trying to maximize revenues.  The advantage OPEC has is that oil is always in regular high demand.  Even they have had a hard time controlling prices due to other market participants like Russia, Canada and the USA.
