When I worked for Syncrude before they we bought, they stored Coke in big cells (1/2 mile square, then covered it), so much was stripped from the sand, not required for the Boilers powering the ...more

Cogeneration is more efficient and lowers SU's carbon intensity, but what happens to the coke that was being burnt? It almost certainly gets transported and burnt somewhere else. If you factor ...more
