RE:Iran..The Economy....OilExperienced, at the end of the day, this was the most stupid move Trump could have made. All the Iranian regime have to do is survive and they win. There is no end game for the Americans, for the Israelis, their end game is to use the US to degrade a sworn enemy, mission accomplished.
Restarting an oil field is not simply a matter of flipping a switch, it can take several days, in some cases, weeks. If, as you suggest and I agree it's a distinct possibility, the Iranians mine the straits of Hormuz, then we are looking at oil production to be offline until mid to late April. Oil stocks have reacted as if the disruption will be short and sweet. If this drags on for another two-three weeks, I'd imagine most oil stock will see 52 week highs.
