According to this report/article on CBC- we missed expectations:

"Suncor Energy Inc. is reporting a third-quarter operating loss of $302 million or 20 cents per share as revenue fell 34 per cent to $6.5 billion due to lower production and oil prices compared with the same period of 2019.

The Calgary-based company earned $1.114 billion or 72 cents per share in the third quarter of 2019 on revenue of $9.9 billion.

lots of sleepless SU investors tonight. Terrible earnings, that clearly missed expectations. Down 8-9% last two days, let's see what's next...

Of course it missed compared to 2019.  The consensus is that in the current environment with current anaylists EPS every quarter of almost every company (don't look at Fdx. Lol) almost every company has suffered a loss year over year when compared to the same period of the previous year.  Duh.     This stock beat the expectations. The comparison is quarter over quarter
