Believing oil is dead

Is akin to believing the US $ is doomed. 

Not a snowballs chance in hell that's going to happen.

Oil isn't dead and isn't going to die off.   Oil will continue to be used in the future but it will be used for petrochemicals and roads and hopefully some other uses that the industry can come up with to survive.  The days of "oil is bad" had a degree of validity in terms of the cancer causing properties of combusted diesel, but it was mostly a political sales ...more

  Also I think for every one EV that comes on line in a first world country.  There's 2 ICE units fired up in the developing country's.   Not against them but in a country that has winter 6 months of the year I don't see a point in owning one

Affordability for EVs is still  major issue. I've said before and I'll say it again, people are barely surviving out there when it comes to finances. At this point in time and the foreseeable future, EVs will be a luxury that only select groups of people can afford. On my drive home from work today, I'd say that at least 70% of vehicles on the road were what I would consider older ...more

kman I agree that affordability for the initial purchase is an issue for many people right now and this is especially true with interest rates being at current levels..  My last two cars were financed at zero interest rate. Once an EV is purchased its cost of operation at current oil and electricity prices is significantly lower as is the general operating and maintenance cost.  It ...more
