I'm not sure if anyone drive ev out west , does it even charge at this level .... the battery must cry for help , personally I would have range anxiety to freeze and die .

It's was -29C at noon -1pm with the sun shining and some wind, wind chill was -40C tonight will be -38 to -41C, wind chill -50-55C depending wind speed. .... My smartphone in my jacket pocket lost substantial battery energy level just 15 mins of snow shovelling outside.  After warming up inside the house, the smartphone battery level doesn't recover back the lost energy. I got a heat pump zephyr I don't go under -20, it loose efficience and you damage the compressor , at -20 I start my pellet stove and old withfield crank at level 3 and heat my place .... burn one bad for 2 days at 5.99$ the bag , the stove is 20 years old all original work like a beast lol

i see a heat pump is a good equip to have around the house. It can supplement heating and cooling during the extreme cold and hot days. Since canada has more extreme cold than extreme heat, i would still chose a good old reliable NG/oil/wood fuel to do the main load.
