It sounds now like a new NCIB will likely be announced before long. And the market will like it.

IMO, as the details are disclosed except for the closing date, the date itself is not likely to move the sp therefore would not be regarded as “material”. Furthermore, the tax implications should be minimal as the write down created a loss situation to offset any capital gains. The question of redeployment of the capital gain has not been disclosed and could be interesting if done smartly.
