Some funds do not purchase shares under the $5 mark, so if their main objective is to make their shares accessible to these funds then they would ensure that the consolidation takes the share price

Most reverse splits are with companies that are dying or in poor financial health. That is not the case here. Some funds have share price minimums for the companies they're allowed to invest
