I agree, except in this case, they sold the shares to their own family members as part of estate planning, most likely for tax reasons, by selling near lows (maybe the lowest point), they reduce their tax hit by reducing the capital gain on which taxes are computed

But obivously, their families as a whole have not reduced their economic interest in the company, in fact, it could be a sign they don't think they could sell it anywhere lower, but obviously if you've decided that this is going to zero, nothing I could tell you will possibly change your mind
