Re Tech

If anyone could use charts and various calcs to predict the future price of a company share, at least 51% of the time. we would all be rich.

Looks like some are debating my many ignores about charts being valuable. I do not read much of the posts as the debate is futile. Sometimes opinions can have some substance.  For instance. I am of the opinion that the sun will rise tomorrow. No one will know for sure until tomorrow. But most would agree the opinion has substance.  The monetary system on the other hand has no such ...more

That's a very good and important point..several actually.  The "debate" goes nowhere because it's like arguing with the religious. You can't reason a person out of a position they arrived at without reason.  Just like all relgions t/a is a belief system....it is not science, empirical or as you point out, natural.  Natural systems have predictable patterns ...more

hahaha ... and yet you have "faith" that your interpretation of the fundamentals is worth staking money on. I state again, confirmation bias is impossible to address as those who chastise others for having blind faith cannot understand their own blindness. You state, "Quants, CTA funds, big hedge funds etc do not use laymans blunt axe to do what they do. They front run everything ...more

Perhaps you have noticed past market responses to such demographic changes, or global policy changes, or supply demand balances? If so, you are literally using ...more

Hardly. I don't "know" with 100% certainty that an aging demographic will lift the health care sector but the odds are in favor of it doing so vs. the fact of an aging population needing more health care will negatively influence the sector.  This has NOTHING to do with a squiggly line above or below an arbitrary moving average or some make believe support or resistance.  ...more

What I do know is this. So long as a financial sort of free trade stays in place. 1. If u r patient and buy low, u will b able to sell high, if u picked a corp that will not go broke. 2. Commodities r safer than producers but way less upside. Why? less risk. 3. Most only make some money if they r not greedy. nf
