Go ahead and strike. I am sure most of them have moved their money to CS or HBM already. As long as you are in one of the copper miners you are making money.

Might be the unions last chance to hold them hostage.  Once the golden goose starts laying who cares iof an only slightly better than marginal mine shuts down for a month or two.

People I know in the pit are also willing to walk. Unfortunately, they can't walk very far cause they need money to lay bills. Strike pay sucks more than a mediocre deal.

I thought you were going to say that they can't walk far because it is a long hard hike up and out of the pit. isn't this pretty much SOP in the mines?  They threaten 72 hour notice, some negotiations happen.  Everyone gets back to work.  I get wanting a piece of the pie when copper prices are up, but what about when they go down?  Do the workers give the pay ...more

Won't be long and robots will be doing all the mining via AI.  Some engineer will just monitor it all on a screen.  If you can fight a war with drones, you certainly should be able to mine with them.  When it's more expensive to pay the workers than to switch, the shift will happen.
