use boepd to measure production. Makes no sense when on a boe basis oil sells for 3.5 times nat gas. I have no idea how regulators let this happen.

I think you're barking up the wrong tree. In my understanding of the Canadian E&P model, I have realized that whether its 5% oil or 70% oil, its basically the same business and profit model and therefore to me it makes sense that they all report volumes using the same metric (boe). The 3 main variables are a) blended realizations (gas, oil, condensate, and NGLs which are not all the same ...more

You're either ignoring or forgeting when oil collapsed, natural gas held strong along with TOU's profitability At the end of the day people can say what the want about boe or the differences and similarities of oil v nat gas, the proof was in the TOU pudding as when the spot price of oil collapsed, TOU was making record profits of nat gas and even intiated a dividend and became Canada' ...more

Bang on bagcheese , nat gas/LNG is the future . Anyone who gets out of Canada's "woke" bubble knows that .  Nat gas will be more important going forward as a transitional fuel and a cleaner option . Canada could be a major player in the LNG market with a more open minded government , we certainly have the resource .
