Help me. What the hell did PB mean when he said a 2-4% recovery factor at Royston.

He is referring to the fact that this is a very large pool. But only one well is drilled. As they add wells to different locations of the pool the recovery rate will climb drastically.

In comparison the Penal/Barrackpore pool(s) were estimated at approximately 1 billion barrels of oil in place and it is estimatede that eventually 130 million barrels will be produced. That is primary extraction of about 13%. Hopefully we can expect better production and maintenance policies from TXP on Royston and this recovery can be higher with secondary/teriary recovery methods, if feasable ...more

Where are you getting the Penal Barrackpore TPIIP estimate? Additionally the 130M bbl recoverable was as of a 1988 reserve assessment from the Brian Dyer paper which had no TPIIP number as far as I could see. The challenge with T&T is getting up to date information that you can share publicly is challenging. This is part of the reason why XM is such an invaluable resource for TXP as he's ...more
