We got work to do

Well folks , after spending a few days with the literati on this board, I feel it is time to regretfully put them in ignore heaven and get back to work.
Why ? because VET is a very misunderstood company. We seem to have a crowd here who do not even want to understand it. But there are many others who do. Helping them is a worthwhile effort in my opinion.
So please let us get back to work , if I ever fall off the rails again and start dignifying these insulting children with an answer then kindly put me on ignore and get on with it  without me !!
Thank you !!

If it wasn't for the market being a bit discouraged and I'm not sure why tbh. We all have our opinions about it but....overall, I thought it was favorable. VET would be trading above $15 imho. That being said, I now think VET will close 2021 under $14.50 a share. IF I'm wrong, I'm wrong but I don't think we'll see a new 52 week high for the remaining year. 2022, will be a ...more

It is very hard to read markets on a shorter time frame, but usually they eventually get it right. I have been very perplexed by VET as it has been very slow to react to positive FCF developments. Perhaps it is deliberate shorting. Sophisticated traders with financial backing can do wash trading to drive prices down using various tecniques. If so I am surprised they can do it for so long. Perhaps ...more

O.G.... A triple in price!? Wow... You're more optimistic than my share price expectation. Nevertheless, hope you're call reaches over mine.

Well, right now, I figure FCF will run around $ 6.00 per share per year with current pricing. So for a 15% yield we get a share price around $40.00 How long will it take the market to give us a fair price? My guess is a year. Why ? Paydown of debt, dividend restoration, but more importantly return of inflation which will cause legions of pensioners like myself to abandon their fixed income ...more

No doubt. Huge difference. Also and curious. How did you calculate $6 a share of FCF? Cheers
Comment by Oldnagger on Nov 15, 2021 11:28pm
Just look ar Q3  fcf times 4 gets you to $4 per share the add on another !0 USD for crude pricing and the equivalent for nat gas that gets you there more or less !!

We actually don't need oil to trend any higher than $85 for this to double in my opinion.. leveling off between $80-$85 would do it.. and it seems that that $80 handle is holding.. there's too many talking heads on TV (BNN anyway) that poopoo the run to $100 and predict production increases next year from US shale.. IMO those folks are talking their books and nothing more.. the shale ...more

Agreed , there is no near term factor that will bring oil or nat gas prices down. Already the international markets are stretched as tight as a drum. How high can prices go?Well as we have seen just recently for nat gas the number is a thousand dollars for short stretches  For crude there is still adequate inventories globally, but only a fool would want to sell it cheaply now !1

Good post Nagger! I find there is just so much hate carried over from when VET was forced to cut their div in 2020 when oil went to $-47. That IMO, is what makes VET the best valued O&G name out there Buying this name in April 2020 was the ultimate test of buy when there's blood in the streets The stock is King Leper in a hospital full of leprosy stocks (O&G) It's the most ...more

Shouldn't use the R work. It's not very nice.

It's ok to use if you are one like him. He also posts under the name Pipeless Pauper (or does he?).  He is one too. Is VET going to fall through some more support today? Is the Old Nag going to melt down again today?  That was like Chernobyl.

When you think that oil has climbed back over USD 120 from bottom to top , it is really not much of a stretch to think that the share price has gone up by a little over 4 times.Anyone still blaming poor management for cutting the dividend is really not thinking straight. Ask yourselves What would I have done?? t
