Fine tuning is fine by me...
Crescent Point made a high quality acquisition and is now tweaking their assest and focus to get their balance sheet back in order...
Many investors don't consider the nuances of a deal...25,000 BOEPD is not a hard and fast calculation...Look at the ratios being thrown around for Nvdia for example...absolutely nuts! BUT why is the market paying those prices? Growth! Plain and simple....It's not just a linear revenue calculation..
If Crescent Point sells off an asset that is going to"glide" over the next year and then begin a more accelerated devaluation due to lack of growth...What better time to resposition than now...?
THe naysayers will be gone soon enough and Crescent Point will go back to building a company with long term growth in mind...Target's have only been impacted mildly at best IMO, and the trade off for growth and greater stability will pay off in spades down the road IMO..

Agreed.. today's action makes me smile.. a few disgruntled shareholders selling.. adds to a bit of tree shaking on weak emotions makes good buying opportunities for those that can see how the long game is coming together nicely.. ;-)

I like the way you think Moe, you were right about a good buying opportunity today so I unloaded WCP and now all in CPG. I like the way things are going with this company and i believed today was the day to get in. I would be suprised if we dont see some upswing next week and once again pass WCP. GLTA

Good luck tollycraft.. looks like you made a good move as of this AM.. ;-) The realities of the disposition are hitting the street now and posters like S&F clouding the issue with factless ramble will fade away to real research and DD.. Good luck in all your investments..!

Agree mainly. Perhaps they could have held out for a better return, though. Where I agree is their shift to core assets and concentrating on them. I don't like the roughly 50 cent devauation in share price. I like to think they will recover a lot of that loss in due course. Right now the stock is lower than Whitecap's. It should bounce back soon enough I hope.

All they need to do is take a portion of those sales dollars and drill a few more holes in the Duvernay/Monteney by years end, kick out a 5 cent special divi in Dec. apply the balance to the debt and we're back on track for modest growth in production in 2024 IMO.. ;-)
