Obvious short Attack on WELL - WHY ??

Look how the shorts sellers went from 1.2  million in Jan 2021 to 5.4 million by May 2021
that is quite the attack and the 2 million jump April 21 to May 6 was EXACTLY on release of the short report on April 21 -  Looks like some US hedge fund owns TDOC or other US health care tech competitors and go after the Canadian up and coming competition

The whole market was overvalued.  Shorting is not unique to Well.  Market is in a downtrend. The whole argument that "Short" is good for the market is fault.  If this is such a good thing, why the concept is not widely spread to the rest of society? So, investor use margin and borrow money from broker, that gives them the right to lend out the shares?  If that ...more

I dislike short selling too. It manipulates the stock price of a company, and the true value is lost through a group of investors trying to make money by bringing the share price down however they can. It would be nice if this corrupt practice was outlawed on the TSX, and better regulations were passed to stop market manipulation.

There is a real imbalance here where analysts who are invested in a company are required to disclose the fact of his or her position as an owner of the stock.  Not the case with individuals who write short reports.  The author even indicates in their reports that he or she may be long or short at any given time.  Worse, they are not required to disclose the name of the institution ...more

It hasn't occurred yet because the stock market is full of inequities and corruption. As an example, what happened during the Robinhood GameStop situatuon months ago proved that. The very rich hedge funds and short sellers proved to be more powerful than your average (but huge) group of retail investors banding together to prove a point about market inequities. Even stock market retail ...more
