Q3 projections

I see yahoo fiance has updated their Q3 projections for WFG.

Yahoo finance projects Q3 to be 5.19 EPS which is roughly 550-600M USD in earnings.

WFG has also beaten yahoo finance projections last 4 quarters so maybe closer to $6 EPS is more likely. Ontop of that I'm not sure yahoo finance is taking into account the share buybacks that are on going.

Q1 EPS was 6.96/665M USD and I had thought Q3 could be close to that.

We'll see but I think this is excellent news that in a more normal enviroment that WFG could still be pulling in 500M+ USD in earnings per quarter.

You might see a modest beat on panels but Q1 is going to be much better result that Q3, adjusted for Norbord assets at run-rate at least. I can't see Scotia's earnings for WFG for some reason, but they have CFP at 62% of Q1 in Q3.  LPX is about pairity.  So, maybe call it 80% of Q1. The curtailments were material too this Q.   The action may be on assets and M&A. ...more
