Newmont divesting Coffee

From "Strategic," to Not-optimal.

From the annual report:

Key Quote:

As part of Newmont’s portfolio optimization, the company is seeking to divest six non-core assets: Akyem, CC&V, lonore, Porcupine, Musselwhite, and Telfer. In addition, Newmont expects to divest the Coffee project in Canada and the Havieron project in Australia.

Let's see who buys it... It is fully permitted after all.

"Newmont expects to divest the Coffee project in Canada and the Havieron project in Australia." Could someone be interested in the Coffee and the Casino project,  turning this into a Copper & Gold area play ? Who knows,, this could be a good thing, someone willing to put in a low ball bid ? Timing is right for Newmont to get something started and end this misery for us  ...more

Well if we are honest Newmont were probably have sat on it and we're probably going to sit on it for more years without development... At least whoever buys it even if it is a year will almost certainly want to crack on with developing Coffee into a producing mine.

Paul did mention M&A in one of the prior podcasts.  It would be a nice little add on to Casino to be sold as a package deal.
