Corruption case
Jigsaw made a good post. I think there is no question of the closiing of Escobal permanently, even though it seems that the people are against the mining in general. The question here is WHAT the Company needs to do to stay alive in Guatemala. Xinca is just an excuse.
Corruption is integrated in the country, government, society. Constitutional Court is no exception. It will take time but the Company has to win. In a proper way, or otherwise it will always be shut down at the mercy of whomever. I don't think that CC would like Escobal shut. Government too.
That is not the gain here. Some would like to profit here and that's all, and they should not. So the Escobal is closed.
Time will tell. But I think eventualy, TAHO wil win. Gold price then will not be today's.

Tahoe imo is likely to be broken up with its mines sold to the protester' s financiers

This has floated around in the back of my mind too. I hope that we are wrong. If, by some stretch that it happened that way, what is the likelihood of a lawsuit against the financial backers behind the protest. Surely they couldn't be allowed a free pass! ..............

That is total BS imo! This will take some time but Escobal will be a producing mine for Tahoe in around 6-12 months and the company will be cash flow positive next year with it's gold mines alone!

I hope you are right! It just seems that something stinks behind the scene and when dealing in some of these countries, things can go for a dump real fast. Sure hope that THO make a solid comeback. I'm an old LSG holder that got the scr3wing once by the THO takeover ........ don't want another!!!

I think you are right here. It's a matter of time. Mine will be back, gold will be up and the price will be back up too. GLA
