It invests in the fixed income markets of the United States. The fund takes short positions and invests indirectly through exchange traded funds and derivatives like futures contracts, options, swap agreements, and forward contracts to invest in fixed-rate, U.S. dollar denominated Treasury securities which have a maturity between 7 and 10 years. It seeks to track thrice the inverse of the daily performance of the ICE U.S. Treasury 7-10 Year Bond Index. Direxion Shares ETF Trust - Direxion Daily 7-10 Year Treasury Bear 3X Shares was formed on April 16, 2009 and is domiciled in the United States.
