Voting the deal down...
I don't think it's likely that the regular shareholders can vote this down. Cory Wright of iA Private Wealth has always said he wants out. He has publicly claimed in various shareholder meetings and activities that his clients own a combined double digit percentage of the company. Cresence owns a few million. The management and BoD options an be voted. From today's press release:
"The directors and officers of Bioasis, together with certain other shareholders, who collectively own approximately 8.2% of Bioasis’ issued and outstanding common shares, have entered into transaction support agreements with Midatech pursuant to which they have agreed to vote their Bioasis shares in favour of the Arrangement at the Bioasis Meeting.
Hemeon has a million shares, or something like that. RH has a few million.
About Cresence, imagine the "HUGE" value of Cresence, and it being the cornerstone of the deal, when the Cresence people end up with only 0.6% of the resulting company.
Something else is of greater value than Cresence EGF in this deal.
xB3 is that value! And xB3-001 and xB3-004, and the Chiesi deal, and progranulin. Cresence seems to be nothing!
Cresence = only 0.6% of the WHOLE DEAL.
The deal is all about xB3.
There's a fight coming.
This may be a scalping of the first order.
