CockroachesWill Regional Banks Trigger a “Credit Event” For the Financial System? | ZeroHedge

E
xcerpts:

Something BAD is brewing in the regional banks. And before we shrug it off, we need to consider that regional banks:

  1. Have over $5 TRILLION in U.S. deposits.
  2. Account for 50% of all industrial/ commercial loans in the US.
  3. Originate 80% of all mortgages.
  4. Account for 45% of all personal loans
According to HedgieMarkets, commercial real estate loans comprise 44% of regional bank portfolios (compared to just 13% for the big banks).
