Why Noront?

If BHP has a deal with Tesla - why are they going after Noront as their North American Nickel supply? Why wouldn't they be looking to take over CNC which already has a much larger supply of Nickel? If BHP had made a significant offer to CNC already we would know about it due to rules of disclosure I Beleive.

In my mind CNC is a no brainer if companies Beleive in the future value of Nickel. I was expecting the largest sources of nickel to be targeted first.

That's the wrong way of thinking RM. You have to pick the low fruit first. Easy to grab. Bhp could spend a lot of wasted time trying to scoop up CNC at these low levels while others Buy out the smaller companies. To me that says that they are potentially wanting to purchase now and finish the exploration of the ring of fire area themselves while they own it. They would ...more

It would be interesting to know how many acquisitions in the basic metal industry in the past 15-20 years were done where the acquired company was pre-FS stage AND the acquirer was a public company.  Probably a very low %.
