RE:RE:Nemaska-Lithium
RE:RE:Nemaska-Lithium"Rio Tinto remains fully committed to the Bcancour project and to Quebec, which is a key hub for its global lithium growth strategy." Rio Tinto recently took majority control of the company (increasing their stake to 53.9% from the 50/50 split they previously held with Investissement Qubec). Before this, they didn't have full authority over strategic decisions. Now that they are in control, they are making the difficult calls necessary to ensure the success of their investment. They are paving the road for a lithium business in this part of the world, and nobody said it would be easy. Major global trends and fast-moving geopolitical shifts make all projects moving targets. However, certain heavy trends remain solid. Even though EVs are facing significant headwinds in the USA, the same isn't true for the rest of the world. Many analysts suggest that if North American automakers fail to remain competitive, they will be pushed into a niche market on the global stage. A major emerging trend is the growing need for battery backup for power grids, especially with the surge of data centers being built across the US. Lithium has been identified as a "critical" mineral for both the economy and the militaryas evidenced by its inclusion in the U.S. Project Vault. With the new global way of doing business, Canada is positioning itself as a reliable source of minerals. Even with the geopolitical tensions surrounding oil puts Canada as a reliable source. Its even possible that as aluminum plants in East Asia shut down, the U.S. administration will realize they need more Canadian aluminum than they previously thought. I believe that as CRE shareholders, we are in the right place at the right time. Just my own humble opinion; do your own research and act accordingly. Buy, sell, or holdits up to you. GLTA DODD
