In my opinion, no government regulatory body will ever allow a genetically modified bacteriophage to be used on humans. Why you might ask? Because the way they work is far too risky. They inject their DNA into bacterium and the cell replicates the viral DNA in enormous quantities that eventually rupture the cell thereby killing it.
If you think the FDA would allow a designer (aka 'wild') phage to be mass produced and injected into a person, good luck with that. What could possibly go wrong?
