DEF's 111.67Mt M&I Resource @ Tepal & Potential at Zacatecas Defiance Silver Corp. (ticker: DEF.v or DNCVF for US investors) has reported a new mineral resource estimate at its Tepal copper-gold project in Michoacn, Mexico, while advancing silver exploration at its Zacatecas property, one of the country’s historically rich silver regions.
At Tepal, the updated estimate now includes:
-
111.67 million tonnes in the Measured & Indicated category with:
-
0.26 g/t gold for 926,000 oz Au
-
0.19% copper for 473.86 Mlb Cu
-
1.55 g/t silver for 5.58 Moz Ag
-
Strong metallurgical performance with 86% copper and 54% gold recoveries.
-
Copper concentrate grading 23% Cu with additional gold credits.
Recent drilling in the South Zone has intersected:
Follow-up drilling is expected in 2025 to further test these deeper zones and possible feeder structures. A preliminary economic assessment (PEA) is also being prepared, with release targeted later this year.
Meanwhile, at the underexplored Zacatecas silver project:
-
73 holes have been drilled across 26,578m at the San Acacio vein system.
-
Extensive surface mapping and soil sampling have been completed.
-
Although not yet part of an updated resource, data from these programs suggest promising high-grade silver targets remain at depth.
The company believes Zacatecas holds significant upside as exploration continues to define new zones of mineralization.
With a growing resource base at Tepal and continued progress at Zacatecas, Defiance Silver is advancing both development and exploration-stage assets, aiming to unlock value across two key metal corridors in Mexico.
