ABOUT TD .09c QUESTION.
First, I want say that this subject is not much of a concern to me. What really matters to me is the price it is going to open at, and where it might go from there when it resumes trading.
So, one might ask me: "why did you do it then ?"...well, I did it to bring the full truth to the board and also to vindicate the word "BOGUS" given to me.....and I'm not "joking"........never joke with the truth.
I spent about 3 hours of my time yesterday and today (mostly waiting to talk to someone ) trying to get to the bottom of it.
Yesterday I called and I got "Yew Qua" ( don't hold me to the right spelling. She put me on hold while she conferred with her supervisor. She said because the stock was halted it will only show the Market value in my account. Well, that made no sense because the book value on TD is .34c (for those that have level 2, that can be found by clicking on the last icon to the right of the stock. On that page, in the top left inside below the date (today's) you also find .12c....not .115 or .09.....
I called again later and I got "MIKE". He didn't have to confer with anyone and went right on to tell me that it always shows the closing bid in my holding account. Some truth to that...but not in this case, I thought. I said I could not remember what was the closing bid but had my doubts about that because this stock usually doesn't trade with such big of a spread.
Still not satisfied I called today again and got "MATT"...he was a bit more helpful. He said when a stock is halted you still can place an order as long that order is a day order and maybe that data is peeking up that kind of an order after the halt and not the dated orders. As he said, "it's not an exact science" but he was very strong in his opinion and went on to say it didn't really matter what price it show at , in my holdings, because what it matters is what price it will open up when it resumes trading, to which I agree 100%.
I have a tendacy to accept his version over the others, though, still inconclusive, as I had an experience last week with EFG-V.....I try to place a dated sell order and the system gave me an warning that only day orders were accepted as that stock was still halted.
I also asked Matt a very important question: "Is it only in my account that shows the .09, or it will be true for everyone dealing with TD ?....He said : " It should apply to everyone but let me check two or three other accounts for you ...."Yah,"....he said. "it shows .09 cents in everyone"
I only speak for my self and what I can see in TD which is the only broker I deal with.....and yes if you go to "detail cotes" it shows there .115 as the closing price before the halt. Nobody can dispute that.
That is so true as true as the .09 showing in my "Holdings...account"
Nobody was lying here but I have to say....somebody were holding the full truth and the guilty parties.....they alone only can answer the reason to why they didn't tell you the full truth.
Now you have the full truth about the .09c in ....."ANY TD ACCOUNT"....not only half of it.
For me the subject is close.
